Want to visit Oak Park on your own?
Widely considered to be the greatest American architect, Frank Lloyd Wright began his quest to develop an honest and democratic order of American Architecture in our very own Chicago and nearby suburb of Oak Park. By the end of his career, Frank Lloyd Wright designed more than 1,000 buildings, with 100 of those structures in the state of Illinois. Frank Lloyd Wright's unprecedented style of design - the Prairie School of Architecture, explored new concepts of space and living art that extend into the 21st century. Chicago and Oak Park are the sites of the largest concentration of Wright's architecture in the world - they are where Frank Lloyd Wright came of age as an architect and emerged as a world-renowned radical.
Join us on one of our Frank Lloyd Wright tours and see for yourself what makes Frank Lloyd Wright's architecture so spectacular. Each tour includes round trip transportation to and from downtown Chicago.
THE FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT TOUR OF OAK PARK examines more than one dozen Frank Lloyd Wright-designed structures including the Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio, the Edwin Cheney House, and the Arthur Heurtley House. This in-depth tour of the life and work of Wright includes a walking tour of the Frank Lloyd Wright Historic District and an interior tour of the Unity Temple and the Rookery Lobby.
THE FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT TOUR OF THE NORTH SHORE explores the northern suburbs of Chicago along Lake Michigan to see more than one dozen Frank Lloyd Wright houses, including the Ward Willits House. The highlight of this Frank Lloyd Wright Tour is a walk through the Ravine Bluffs Development - a subdivision with seven houses, three architectural sculptures, and the only bridge built by Frank Lloyd Wright.
THE FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT TOUR OF CHICAGO examines six structures within the City of Chicago and includes an interior tour of the incomparable Robie House (lead by the Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust) and the Wright-designed Rookery Lobby, as well as an exterior discussion of three Frank Lloyd Wright-designed houses from the architect's early career.
Each Frank Lloyd Wright tour is highlighted with an in-depth discussion of the work and philosophy of Frank Lloyd Wright while viewing the collection of homes from the first 30 years of Frank Lloyd Wright's career. While on tour, you will view the largest concentration of Frank Lloyd Wright homes in the world and witness the evolution of Wright's Prairie School Architecture from the experimental to the fully mature. All of our Frank Lloyd Wright tours include transportation in the cost of the tour. A portion of our Wright Oak Park Tour ticket sales benefits the restoration of the Unity Temple, and a portion of our Wright Chicago Tours benefits the Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust. All tours begin in downtown Chicago.
